Install without an app store.

CheckOn is a Progressive Web App. Routine CheckOns can wait on your device and sync after your connection returns; SOS, alerts, and live location need a connection. Pick your device below.

iPhone & iPad

  1. Open checkon.app in Safari (must be Safari, not Chrome).
  2. Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen".
  4. Tap Add. The CheckOn icon appears on your home screen.

Android

  1. Open checkon.app in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap "Install app" or "Add to Home Screen".
  4. Confirm. You're done.

Desktop (Mac, Windows, Linux)

  1. Open checkon.app in Chrome, Edge, or Brave.
  2. Click the install icon in the address bar (looks like a small monitor with a down arrow).
  3. Click Install. CheckOn opens in its own window.

Why no app store?

Installing from the browser keeps CheckOn close at hand and lets updates arrive through the web. Browser and operating-system support can differ, especially for notifications.

Notifications

After installing, allow notifications when prompted — that's how you'll get check-in reminders, nudges from family, and SOS alerts from people in your circles.
