1. What Proof of Life is — and isn't
Proof of Life is a daily check-in and alert app. It is not a medical alert device, a substitute for emergency services, or a guaranteed-uptime safety system. Always call your local emergency number in a real emergency.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Keep your password secret. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- One account per person. No automated sign-ups.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use Proof of Life to:
- Track or surveil anyone without their explicit consent.
- Send false emergency alerts.
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
4. Paid plans
- Premium and Family plans renew monthly or yearly until cancelled.
- Cancel anytime from your profile — access continues until the end of the period you paid for.
- Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice. Your next renewal will reflect the new price.
- Refunds within 14 days of a new purchase, no questions asked.
5. Your content
You own anything you put into Proof of Life (profile info, circle names, etc.). You grant us a limited license to store and display it so we can run the service for you.
6. Service availability
We aim for 99.9% uptime and continuously improve reliability — but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Don't rely on Proof of Life as your only safety net.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Proof of Life is provided "as is." We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the previous 12 months (or USD 50, whichever is greater).
8. Changes
We'll notify you at least 14 days before material changes. Continued use after that means you accept the new terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Disputes are resolved in Stockholm.
